The Expectational Leadership Philosophy

 

The function of a leader is to take all the different and conflicting expectations in play, and align them, synchronise and focus them all on a defined objective.

At the core of all Berkley Leadership Programmes is the Power of Expectations and philosophy that everything automatically has an expectation attached. It is these expectations that exist at all levels of interaction that the leader needs to understand and manage.

The Expectational Leadership Programmes differ from conventional managment training which focusses heavily on management frameworks, methods, techniques and tools. There is however an inadequate focus on the human behaviour aspect where people leadership exists.

The expectational Leadership model takes the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the management realm and blends it with the  psychological realm to form an easy to use Leadership Blueprint. This blueprint can be used by anyone to effectively lead in any scenario.

The model has two distinct approaches. To be used to diagnose the psychological health of a team or organisation, and then use the model to identify the root causes of the problem the leader needs to rectify. The second aspects is where it is used at the ourtset of any new venture or project to set up for a better chance of success right out the starting blocks.
